JK Paper Q3 net up 37.63% at Rs 15.69 crore

NEW DELHI: JK Paper today reported a 37.63 per cent increase in net profit at Rs 15.69 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2015 The company had posted a net profit of Rs 11.4 crore in the same period last fiscal, it said in a BSE filing. Net sales during the period under review stood at Rs 596.63 crore as against Rs 544.73 crore in the year-ago period, up 9.52 per cent. Commenting on the results, JK Paper Vice Chairman & Managing Director Harsh Pati Singhania said, "The improvement in performance has been achieved through higher sales volume, better product mix and improved efficiencies." He added that the performance has been achieved despite lower production arising from 10 days planned annual shutdown in December 2015 at the company's Odisha unit. JK Paper Mills organized Quiz Competition among the students

To promote educational service to the tribal students of schools in the periphery villages, SPARSH in association with JK Paper Mills organized Quiz Competition  among the students of 12 High Schools & 31 Upper Primary Schools at JK PUR CLUB, Jaykaypur. Sri Premananda Raut, DEO, Rayagada graced this occasion and inaugurated this programme. Internal written competition was conducted among the students in their Schools. The best four students from each school were selected to the cluster level for final round competition which was held at JK Pur Club, Jaykaypur. Students of U K M Vidyapitha, Gopalbadi, U P School, B N Pur & SSD Govt. Girls High School, Revolkona stood 1st, 2nd & 3rd respectively in High School level and in the Junior level PUP  School, Debodala stood 1st, upgraded High School, Penta and UP School, Dunduli stood 2nd & 3rd respectively. JK Paper Mills Ltd hosts 23rd Inter Industry Engineering Conference

Orissa plant will help improve JK Paper’s realisations

JK Paper commissioned its Rs. 1,750-crore expansion at Rayagada, Orissa, last month adding nearly 60 per cent to its paper production capacity. The expansion comes at a time when the general economic scene is slow, costs are on the rise and the paper industry has seen a huge increase in capacity in recent years, particularly in the printing and writing paper.  Harshpati Singhania, Vice-Chairman and Managing Director, JK Paper, shares with Business Line his views on the impact the expansion will have on the company and the outlook in the market.  What does the expansion mean for JK Paper?   The expansion adds an annual pulping capacity of 2.15 lakh tonnes; paper capacity of 1.65 lakh tonnes; and a captive power generation of 55 MW.
