JK Paper Mills Ltd hosts 23rd Inter Industry Engineering Conference

Rayagada, Dec 4: Inter Company Engineering Conference was inaugurated at S C Jain Auditorium, JK Pur Club, Jaykaypur on Thursday by Shri Harshpatiji Singhania, Vice Chairman & MD, J K Paper Mills Ltd(JKPL), who   graced this occasion as Chief Guest. On this occasion 62 engineers from 19 industries of JK Organization’s Eastern Zone participated conference.The theme was “The Future of Manufacturing belongs to Automation.” This conference continued for three days. The participants discussed about the future manufacturing and automation process of the industries. Orissa plant will help improve JK Paper’s realisations

JK Paper commissioned its Rs. 1,750-crore expansion at Rayagada, Orissa, last month adding nearly 60 per cent to its paper production capacity. The expansion comes at a time when the general economic scene is slow, costs are on the rise and the paper industry has seen a huge increase in capacity in recent years, particularly in the printing and writing paper.  Harshpati Singhania, Vice-Chairman and Managing Director, JK Paper, shares with Business Line his views on the impact the expansion will have on the company and the outlook in the market.  What does the expansion mean for JK Paper?   The expansion adds an annual pulping capacity of 2.15 lakh tonnes; paper capacity of 1.65 lakh tonnes; and a captive power generation of 55 MW. The existing paper machine capacity totalling 2.9 lakh tonnes will continue to run fully.  The plant adds to JK Paper’s scale and volume. JK Paper rallies as Q1 net profit rose to Rs 16.78 crore

JK Paper Ltd rallied as much as 10.1 per cent in trade on Tuesday, a day after the company reported standalone net profit of Rs 16.78 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, 2015-16 on increased productivity and effective utilization of raw materials. The stock ended the day 5.18 per cent higher or Rs 2.20 at Rs 44.70. It had posted a net loss of Rs 22.53 crore for the April- June period of previous fiscal, 2014-15, JK Paper said in a statement. JK Paper Vice Chairman & Managing Director Harsh Pati Singhania said: “The significant improvement in performance is due to higher sales volumes and major improvements in operating efficiencies emanating from the Company’s new plant at Jaykaypur, Odisha. The company's standalone net sales stood at Rs 682.73 crore in the first quarter of the current fiscal as against Rs 573.88 crore in the year-ago period.
